4 Ways A Small Restaurant on A Small Budget Can Grow Their Business

Have a small restaurant and very little available for marketing? Any wondering how to get the word out about your business?

Just because your budget is small doesn’t mean that your marketing can’t have an impact. Did you know there are a few effective ways to market a restaurant that requires very little investment?

All you need is some creativity and a little know-how and you can spread the word about your small restaurant and make a big impact on your success.

Here’s a look at five simple ways to market your small restaurant without blowing your budget.

1. Google PlacesImage title
Setup your Google Places account for your restaurant so people can find you when searching online.
This mapping service allows Google users to easily find your listed restaurant within their local area. It’s quick and easy to do and very budget friendly.

2. Sponsor A Charity Event
Sponsoring charity events offers an ideal situation for restaurants. The event organizer gets the things they need for their cause and you get exposure for helping with all the guests who show up for the charity event. This is one of the best ways for restaurants to give back to the community and raise their profile with local residents.

3. Partner with Other Local Businesses
Partnerships are a great way for you to tap into the customers of other businesses to elevate your exposure in your community. The goal is to find complementary businesses that need food for events or are also looking for creative ways to thank their customers. You can offer to provide the food in exchange for exposure to their customers.

4. Use Proximity Marketing
This is a relatively new way for storefronts to market their business. Using proximity marketing solutions like those offered by a US-based company called Asirvia, a restaurant can market directly to customers mobile phones when potential customers come within 100 yards of their restaurant.

Here’s how it works… You have a tiny wireless piece of hardware that can fit in the palm of your hand called a GO that you can stick on your front window. Using a web-based platform called GO SERVICES, you decide the promotional message and link you want to program with your GO. The GO broadcasts your message and link up to 100 yards and can be viewed as a notification by nearby phones & devices with Bluetooth and Location enabled.

There is even an upgraded version of GO SERVICES called GO PLUS that you can use to share an ad that includes an image, some details about your restaurant or daily special, your phone number and website or video link. This ad can be saved to people’s mobile phones and shared to other mobile phones or to Facebook. How cool is that!

You would think this technology would be expensive, but you can have it for less than a few dollars a day!

So, just because you have a small marketing budget doesn’t mean that you must settle for small marketing thinking. With these simple and cost-effective advertising ideas, you won’t believe how much business you will be able to generate in a very short period of time on a very limited marketing budget!
